This is why it makes me nuts when people argue that the Palestinian side has just as much responsibility as the Israeli side, particularly for controlling violence. These young men and women can’t even go to university in their own country because their movements are controlled by someone else. How can a government that has no say in who goes where, the use of its water supply, the collection of its taxes, be expected to control its citizens’ use of violence?

Also, there is no decent rationale for this. And the State Department rolled right over.
